In military parlance, Readiness Condition is used to refer to a unit’s readiness to respond to and engage in combat operations. In the engineering world, we refer to “Redcon” as our ability to produce protocol solutions that can be readily executed in the field.
Redcon Engineering LLC is a full-service civil engineering firm specializing in planning, designing, permitting, and construction management of municipal projects.
Our engineering and design staff strive to deliver exactly what our clients need by working with them during every step of the process. We continually seek out the latest in technological advances so that we can bring our clients the best possible outcomes for their projects by providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to their unique needs.
Our Team
After being in the industry for many years, we felt there was a need for a single source firm to handle all engineering tasks under one roof. From there, Redcon was born. Housing a Civil/Municipal department, an Electrical department and a Structural department. Started by three like-minded individuals wanting to create and have intimate relationships with clients while making the process seamless for them. We offer a wide range of services encompassing each department, while offering an extensive 60+ years of experience and knowledge within each discipline.
Ed Hirzel, P.E.
Principal
Ed Hirzel has over 23 years of design experience in both Structural Building Design and Environmental Engineering. As the lead structural engineer and engineer of record for over 500 buildings, Ed is happy to bring his expertise to Redcon and our clients. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Engineering in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
Keith Straight, P.E.
Principal
Keith Straight has over 17 years of experience in Municipal Project Management, Civil Design, Permitting, Water and Wastewater infrastructure. Keith leads and manages the Municipal and Land Development sector for Redcon, providing daily engineering support for many boroughs, townships, authorities, and developers throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Youngstown State University.
Marty Micko, P.E.
Principal
Marty Micko has over 30 years of experience in Electrical Construction and Design. As a registered professional engineer in multiple states, Marty leads the electrical team at Redcon. The electrical design work is performed for a variety of commercial, industrial, and municipal clients and ranges from basic electrical power distribution to complex control systems. This breadth allows Redcon to offer electrical services to a far-reaching client base. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering & Technology from the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown
