Structural Services
Our structural team at Redcon offers a wide range of structural services related to steel buildings, retaining walls, cranes, and building appurtenances. We work closely with our clients, fabricators, and installers to develop structural designs that are cost-effective and practical to construct. We are constantly improving our designs to address new code changes and construction techniques.
Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Design
Our team has designed over 500 custom buildings. Our PEMBs are optimized to meet all building codes and energy conservation requirements. They are faster to fabricate and easier to erect, while generally being less expensive than conventional steel construction.
Building Foundation Design
The foundation is one of the most important elements of erecting your new building. Our engineers will design the foundations with respect to the building reactions and existing geotechnical conditions.
Building Permits
We have a long-standing relationship with many permitting agencies and plan reviewers. Our comprehensive knowledge of applicable building codes and other regulatory requirements ensures an expedient approval. Many of the engineers at Redcon sit on their respective planning commissions and zoning hearing boards, so we know how to address the hurdles of the building permit process.
Overhead Crane Design
We will work with you to design a new crane system, supported by your new PEMB or can analyze existing structures to determine the feasibility of installing an overhead crane system. We can conduct laser surveys to determine if your existing runways are within CMAA tolerances. If the runway system is out of tolerance, we offer engineering solutions that can bring the runway system back into compliance.
Interior Build-outs
Our in-house designers can work with you to design your offices, bathrooms, kitchens, locker rooms, and storage facilities. Our services include HVAC, plumbing, and electrical design. Our designs will meet ADA code requirements. We can also assist with selecting components to meet your needs.
Structural Steel Design
Our engineers and designers can prepare construction drawings for mezzanines, stairs, ladders, platforms, and walkways, for both new and existing buildings. This allows customization of your building to meet your specific needs.
Retaining Wall Design
Our in-house retaining wall design team will ensure that your retaining wall will meet all requirements. We work with many different suppliers of wall material to design gravity, cantilever, and geosynthetic reinforced retaining walls. Since a permit is necessary for any retaining walls over four feet, we will assist you with that as well.
Structural Inspections
We have in-house structural engineers that can perform commercial, industrial and above ground storage tank inspections. We evaluate the structural integrity of the building, foundation and exterior components such as decks, retaining walls, etc., to assess any damage caused by fire, impact, and wear to provide an engineering evaluation and recommended repairs. We can also provide a structural analysis and PE stamped report with the inspection.
